A Practical Study Studio with Copilot Notebooks

What if exam preparation could fit around the way you already learn?

For a Microsoft certification, a simple study loop can turn the same source material into audio, visual maps, practice questions and targeted revision.

That was the approach used while preparing for AB-731: AI Transformation Leader, which was passed on the first attempt.

With around 12,000 steps most evenings, walking became useful second-pass study time: listen, reinforce, and revisit the material without another screen.

Here’s the complete workflow:

1. Listen

Turn study material into an audio overview.

Useful for walks, commuting or other screen-free time.

2. Visualise

Create a mind map from the same material.

The goal isn't another summary. It's seeing how concepts connect.

 3. Test

Use practice questions to test understanding.

But don't stop at the score.

Ask:

Why was this answer wrong?

 4. Revise

Use the results to decide what needs attention next.

A useful distinction is:

“I didn't know this.”

vs.

“I read too quickly.”

Those problems require different revision strategies.

The resulting loop is:

Learn → Reinforce → Test → Diagnose → Revise → Repeat
The prompts

A small prompt set can turn Copilot Notebooks into a structured study workspace.

The Study Studio Prompt Pack includes prompts for:

  • Building a study plan
  • Setting up the notebook as a study coach
  • Creating audio study sessions
  • Generating mind maps
  • Running practice questions
  • Diagnosing knowledge gaps
  • Creating targeted revision

The pack is exam-agnostic.

Replace the certification, subject and timeframe, then adapt the prompts to your preferred learning style. If you learn by doing, for example, replace some of the audio work with labs or practical exercises.
The bigger lesson

The interesting part isn't the individual tool. It's the learning loop.

Instead of:

Study → practice test → check score

try:

Study → reinforce → test → diagnose → target the next session

The same principle can work for certifications, professional development, technical learning or almost any structured learning goal. Copy the framework, not someone else's learning style. Save the carousel for your next study sprint. Grab the prompt pack if you want to build your own.

How would you adapt the workflow to the way you learn?
